Core conclusion: Based on the available data, and provided that the production steps described in the OECD consensus document on sorghum and the FDA requirements (i.e., heat treatment and a minimum sugar content of 74%) are met, EFSA raises no safety objections to the placing of sweet sorghum syrup on the EU market as a traditional food from a third country.
